How does a beard transplant work?
A beard transplant can be a good solution for men without beard hair, whether you don’t miss a moustache, goatee, sideburn or any other part of the beard, it doesn’t matter. There are several known causes for the lack of beard growth, namely genetics and heredity, surgical scars or, for example, burns. You don’t need to have a complete absence of hair for a beard transplant, it can also offer a solution for men with spotty beards who would like a thicker / more filled-in beard.
A beard transplant is performed under local anaesthetic. Because of the local anesthetic and because the transplant is performed by a professional team, a beard transplant is not invasive for you as a patient. It’s just a long one. The beard transplant takes between 4 and 8 hours. Depending on the amount of hair to be transplanted.

Beard transplant with DHI
The hair follicles can be transplanted in several ways. Many providers give FUE as the best possible beard transplant solution, however, with the latest hair transplant technique Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) can also achieve a beautiful result. Based on the photos, our specialist advises the best possible technique.
Choose your new beardline
There are many different shapes when you look at facial hair growth, it is of course up to you how you will grow your new mustache/beard. After your beard transplant, everything is possible again!
The shape of the beard line is entirely up to you to decide. The doctor will of course share his expertise in this with you. A natural beard line often has no straight or sharp lines, you can always achieve this by shaving. The placement of the beard line and the shape are very important, because this together ensures the shape of your face.
Some opt for a straight beard line, while others prefer the line higher and rounder. This is done so that one has the ability to shave a straight line while maintaining the ability to get a more natural look.
When will I see results?
In the first period after the beard transplant, something unnatural will happen to you, your transplanted hair may fall out. This is nothing to worry about and has absolutely no impact on the final result. It doesn’t have to happen to you, but the chances are high. The hair loss, also called shock fall, starts approximately from day 15 after treatment until the end of the second month.
In the third month after your beard transplant, nothing much happens. From the end of the third month, new hairs begin to grow every day. At the end of month seven after your beard transplant you will see about 85 to 90% of the result. Then, in the eighth to twelfth month, the hair continues to grow and new hairs are added all the time. After 12 to 14 months you will actually see your results, it was worth the wait!
However, it is important that you keep in mind that the description above is an example, not everyone is the same, so not everyone will have the same process. This is nothing to worry about, but if in doubt you can always contact us.

Hair Clinic Wolf always gives you honest advice, because it is also possible that you will be told that you are not suitable for a beard transplant. There are several possible reasons for this. How many grafts do I need for a beard and/or mustache transplant?
The amount of grafts required depends on the size of the area to be transplanted. For example, if you want to fill a small bald spot, about 100 grafts will probably be sufficient. If you want a complete recovery of your beard, you can think of approximately 3,000-4,000 grafts.
Why is the first wash performed in the hair transplant department?
For a good healing process it is important that the washing is carried out correctly. As a result, Hair Clinic Wolf chooses to perform the first washing for you. During the wash you will receive additional information about the entire process. Because we go through the washing together, you have all the knowledge so that you will wash your beard in the right way. You also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
Why is a mustache and/or beard transplant offered with the DHI method?
Hair follicles can be implanted directly by means of the DHI implanter. No incisions are made in the receiving area. For this reason, there is hardly any bleeding during the implantation, the damage to the skin is minimized, you have less chance of swelling and the recovery period is shorter. A higher graft density per square centimeter can also be achieved with this hair transplant method and the implanter guarantees full control and safety over the direction, angle and depth of the implanted grafts. It is possible that FUE or FUE Sapphire will give a better result with your hair structure, this advice will be discussed with you.
When can I shave my beard again?
It is important that you do not shave your transplanted hair for the first 6 months after the treatment. During this time, you can trim the transplanted hairs with scissors. The transplanted hairs grow faster because they are transplanted from a different area. Shaving is allowed again after 6 months.
Can I go out in the sun after my beard transplant?
Protect your receiving area from sunlight for 10 days. For example, you can use an umbrella for protection. It is imperative that your receiving area does not burn.
