A hair transplant for women
Female hair transplantation is not a new procedure, but in the past it was generally considered an option for men rather than women. While certainly a very effective option for male pattern baldness, hair transplants also offer a solution for the growing number of women suffering from hair loss. For both men and women, hair can be an important part of a person’s identity. It is therefore understandable that women suffering from hair loss regard a hair transplant as a solution and an intervention that life changes.

Coves in women
Many women develop unwanted coves. The bald spots that appear on the sides of the head are caused by excessive hair loss. Coves occur in both men and women.
Coves can have a big impact on your self-esteem by making you feel insecure or even ashamed of it. A natural reaction to this is to try to hide the coves at first. This will probably only be a temporary solution. A persistent solution to this is to have a hair transplant. Hair is transplanted from the back to the balding spots. At Hair Clinic Wolf we offer permanent solutions for this. In addition, we understand that you do not like to discuss this subject with everyone. We are therefore always ready for a conversation and to look at the possibilities.
Androgenetic alopecia
Androgenetic alopecia can be recognized in the male sex because the amount of hair at the coves or on the crown decreases. This form mainly occurs in men, but women can also suffer from androgenetic alopecia. In women, it is therefore called ‘female pattern hair loss’. Hair loss in women occurs much more evenly in a diffuse pattern. In contrast to a man, the hairlines remain more complete. Androgenetic alopecia is an aging phenomenon that is largely genetically determined.
There are many other different forms of alopecia in addition to alopecia androgenetics. An example of this is alopecia areata. This is a form that starts with bald spots on the head. It is a disease of the hair roots. The places where the hair roots are affected are in most cases round or oval. Most of the hairs fall out in the spots, while the skin around it shows normal hair growth. For this form, transplanting is not possible. Other forms of alopecia are: cicatricialis, traumatica, totalis, diffusa, universalis and cicatricialis.
Regenera against hair loss in women
Regenera Activa is an innovative treatment that has been developed to prevent hair loss in men and women. It uses advanced capillary regenerative technology targeting androgenetic alopecia. The Regenera Activa treatment uses your own hair which contains cells that help activate the follicles around the area of hair loss. In other words, it uses your own body’s ability to produce new hair by stimulating a hair regeneration process.

UNSHAVED HAIR TRANSPLANT METHOD FOR WOMENÂ
Unshaven hair transplantation is a suitable method for anyone who wants to go through the hair transplantation process without shaving. The advantages of this are that the hair transplant process is experienced as less painful. Recovery after treatment is also faster. Another important advantage of an unshaven hair transplant method for many women is that you are more likely to show yourself in public again. Logically, most women prefer a treatment without having to walk around with a cropped haircut.
Hair follicles are removed from the back of your head for the treatment, as this area is not hereditary for hair loss. These hairs, also called grafts, are then placed in the desired area. The hair follicles can be implanted in different ways. The unshaven DHI hair transplant is a good option for women. A minimal part of your donor area is shaved. Even with a Regenera treatment it is not necessary to shave your entire head.
The image shows an example where a large part of the donor area has been shaved. This part can of course always be smaller for you. The doctor can always give you an estimate in advance of the area to be shaved. That way you know exactly what to expect.
Hair transplant women before and after
A hair transplant for women starts, just like with men, with a consultation beforehand with one of our advisors. The specialist will, among other things, consider the best surgical approach for the problem you have with your hair and your wishes and concerns. The treatment takes place on day two, which lasts about 6 to 8 hours. This depends on the amount of hairs that will be implanted.
On the third day you will have a nice rest day at the hotel. After that, a final check and washing is performed on the fourth day. At the moment you will be extensively informed about the guidelines after the treatment and washing. You will also receive your guarantee certificate, we think it is very important that we offer you the growth guarantee of your transplanted hair!
Once back in the Netherlands, you can choose to have the washings performed by a specialized hairdresser. Review
5-stars

It felt very good and familiar from the first moment..
July 30th I went to Turkey with a friend. From the beginning to the end I experienced the involvement and expertise of Lieselotte and the team in Turkey. The doctor Dr. Taner once again explained how the day would go and drew the hairline in consultation with me. My girlfriend was also involved and informed. The anesthetic was not pleasant, but I did not feel any pain at all. A long day, with lunch in between.
Hotel was very neat with very friendly staff and a nice spacious room. The food was good too. August 2 ablution and we were taken back to the airport. Even at home I still feel the involvement. I am so enthusiastic about Hair Clinic Wolf that I wish it on everyone who is thinking about a hair transplant.

frequently asked questions about a hair transplant for women
Is WOMEN’S HAIR TRANSPLANT A TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT SOLUTION?
A hair transplant offers you a permanent solution. The transplanted grafts come from your donor area, which are not genetically affected by hair loss. However, it is important that the direct cause of the hair loss is determined.
Are all women suitable for a hair transplant?
Unfortunately, not all women are suitable for a hair transplant. It is always very important to schedule a consultation with one of our hair specialists beforehand. There are, for example, Alopecia forms where a hair transplant cannot offer a solution.
What are the reasons for hair loss in women?
One of the main reasons for hair loss in women is androgenetic alopecia. The woman’s hair becomes thinner during this process. It is a hereditary condition that can be passed on from one of the parents. Other causes of hair loss can be, for example, the use of medication, changes in hormones, stress and a lack of vitamins.
MAY I GO TO THE HAIRDRESSER BEFORE THE TREATMENT?
It is important that you let your hair grow before having your hair transplant. It is important for the treating team that they have insight into your natural hairline and the direction of hair growth.
Can I FEEL PAIN DURING THE HAIR TRANSPLANT?
A dermo jet is used for the anaesthetic, this is a needleless anesthetic option. By using this anesthetic method, most people experience little or no pain. At most you will feel a little pressure on your head.
DO I SHAVE MY HAIR FOR A HAIR TRANSPLANT?
It is customary for men to shave your hair before undergoing a hair transplant, but this is not necessary. For example, you can also choose to have only a part of your donor area shaved. This is a pleasant choice for women and men with longer hair.
DO I SHAVE MY HAIR MYSELF BEFORE I HAVE A HAIR TRANSPLANT?
You do not have to shave your hair yourself, we will do this before the treatment.
WHY ARE PHOTOS TAKED DURING MY CONSULT?
The photos are important in order to be able to draw up tailor-made advice for you. The medical specialists in Istanbul assess your current situation and based on this, a personal advice is drawn up for you.
I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH MY PREVIOUS HAIR TRANSPLANT, CAN YOU ALSO PERFORM A CORRECTIVE HAIR TRANSPLANT?
We can certainly perform a corrective hair transplant. Other providers often put multi-grafts in the front hairline, creating an unnatural hairline. We can fix this. Also, the desired density is often not achieved, so that you are not satisfied with the result.
Will the insurance cover my hair transplant?
Hair transplant surgery is usually not covered by insurance. A hair transplant is often undergone for cosmetic reasons, so there is no reimbursement. This applies to both male and female hair transplants.
The use of lotions or medicines for hair loss should be stopped as soon as possible, at least 3 days prior to treatment. Think of Dinasteride, Dutasteride, Minoxidill et cetera.
You can calculate the costs of a hair transplant for women with our handy quick scan hair transplants. In addition to a price indication, you will also discover at the same time whether you are suitable for a hair transplant?
Women who suffer from androgenetic alopecia can have a hair transplant. If found suitable, you can be treated as a woman.
