Can Hairegen be used with other hair treatments?
Yes, there are no restrictions or contraindications with other treatments, as long as your condition is compatible with the information here.
What happens if I stop using Hairegen?
Stopping the Hairegen treatment for a few days will not affect the results. If treatment is stopped for several weeks, hair growth will be affected and may lead to resumption of hair loss.
When should I NOT use Hairegen?
You should not use Hairegen if you are pregnant or have a history of contact allergies, scars, birthmarks, wounds or other lesions on the treated scalp areas.
Other scalp conditions such as eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, actinic (solar) keratosis, acne, rosacea, infections or other inflammatory or chronic scalp conditions, including treatment with Retinoids within the past 6 months, are reasons not to use Hairegen.
How do I know the treatment session has ended?
The device switches off automatically at the end of each treatment session.
Are there any side effects with the hair gene treatment?
No there are no side effects. But because the device stimulates the scalp, it may cause a tingling sensation, which is a normal experience because mechanical stimulation is applied to the scalp for effectiveness.
In exceptional cases, there may be over-stimulation of the scalp, usually due to overuse or too much pressure on the device causing sensitivity.
In such cases, it is recommended to discontinue the treatment for a few days before resuming it in a gentler manner.
Are there cases where Hairegen does not help solve a hair problem?
In cases where hair loss has reached an advanced stage (class 5 or higher on the 'Norwood Hamilton' scale), the desired results may not be satisfactory.
In medical conditions that cause hair loss (such as thyroid, hormonal imbalance, severe anaemia or other chronic scalp conditions), results may be negligible.
