PRP treatment

Do you suffer from thinning hair, but you do not want a hair transplant right away?

How does PRP work?

The first step in a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment is to have a blood sample taken from you. After this, the PRP (blood plasma) is separated from the other substances by means of centrifugation. The blood plasma is then injected into the scalp with a thin needle. This is completely painless. The most common form of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia. A solution for this, without directly undergoing a hair transplant, is a PRP treatment. PRP improves the quality of the hair follicles. Other additional benefits are that hair growth is stimulated, the life of the hair is extended and the hair quality is improved.

A PRP treatment can take place both before and after a hair transplant. When a PRP treatment is combined with a hair transplant, this ensures faster wound healing, extra nutrition to the grafts and the platelet-rich plasma enhances the natural growth of the hair follicles.

A common application is when someone smokes a lot. The blood flow to the scalp is then often greatly reduced. With the help of a PRP treatment, the skin is well supplied with blood and nourished. This allows optimal results to be achieved.

How many treatments do you need?

If you opt for a PRP treatment, we recommend four treatments in a two-year period. Do you want to go for the highest achievable result? Then undergo the first three treatments every other month, followed by a treatment after one year. After your treatments, your situation will be evaluated together with your treating doctor.

PRP is a fast, safe and painless treatment. Because only your own blood is used, the risk of infections is very low.

When you opt for a PRP treatment in combination with a hair transplant, we offer you a nice total package. You will receive the first PRP treatment from us, furthermore we advise you to undergo three additional PRP treatments for optimal results. Frequently Asked Questions

What is PRP and how does it work?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. This means that the blood plasma contains many red platelets. Before the PRP treatment, your blood will be drawn and the plasma will be separated from the other blood cells by means of a centrifuge. The plasma is then injected into your scalp with a thin needle.

What does a PRP treatment cost?

At Hair Clinic Wolf, the PRP treatment is included in the price for your hair transplant, so no extra costs will be charged for this. You can also purchase a ‘separate’ package from us, as described earlier on this page.
